The next Senior Olympics race (ages 50 and over) and renegade race (open to skaters of all ages) will be June 3, 2007 (sunday). Looking forward to seeing everybody at EL Dorado Park again for some more fassssst racing, prizes fun and some refreshments after! Pre registration is now available on the web at http://www.active.com/event_detail.cfm?event_id=1443934

Keep your helmets on! Please see the Senior Olympics results page for 2006 race results.

][dThe Senior Olympics will be held at EL Dorado Park on the first Sunday in June 3.2007! New races, prizes food and of course fun! So keep your helmets on! For ages 50 plus, a 10k and a 5k then the fun "renegade race" for those 49 and younger, and the 50 plus if they are still in the ready for another race! (and ya know they will be~!) The caliber of skaters will be more of the speed skaters than the rec skaters as this event is geared for speed. The results for the "renegade" will be upside down as the names go in a hat then the top 3 over picked to reveal whom the winner will be. This is not your regular event and is designed to show those under 49 how those over 50 yrs skate so fassst. Followed by light lunch and of course prizes and medals. The weather report looks to be perfect for racing with no rain!

The Senior Olympics race at EL Dorado Park in Long Beach. June 4, 2006, was a big success for it's new location at EL Dorado Park in Long Beach, CA. Special thanks to all, who helped make this race a success and to all who showed up for a warm, sunny California race.

We started this event with a moment of silence for Allen McDonald, who had died a few days before the event, (he started skating at the age of 80 and passed at the young age of 96). Had the race been the week before he would have been there! Rest in peace Allen, you have the whole road now!

The photos are posted below, from my teammate, Mike Chevdden. Thanks Mike! (aka Orange Chevy).
